Tokyo Disney Christmas 2026: Dates, Shows, Hours & New Year
Disney Christmas runs in both Tokyo Disney parks with new parades, fireworks and food. Dates, hours, tickets and New Year plans, with no prices.
2026 edition

Disney Christmas runs in both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea from November 11, 2026 to December 25, 2026. Tokyo Disneyland has a new Christmas parade, “Toys Wondrous Christmas!”, a Christmas version of its Electrical Parade and the “Starbright Christmas” fireworks. Tokyo DisneySea has “Disney Christmas Greeting” on the harbor and its own “Starbright Christmas” fireworks. You don’t need a special ticket: a normal dated park ticket covers everything.
There is no New Year’s Eve party this year, so no midnight countdown. Instead, a New Year’s Special Event runs in both parks from January 1, 2027 to January 11, 2027.
Dates and opening hours
Both parks share the same Christmas dates. At Tokyo Disneyland the event runs from November 11, 2026 to December 25, 2026, and at Tokyo DisneySea from November 11, 2026 to December 25, 2026.
Opening hours on the big days, as listed on the official calendars:
- Christmas Eve: Tokyo Disneyland 09:00–21:00, Tokyo DisneySea 09:00–21:00
- Christmas Day: Tokyo Disneyland 09:00–21:00, Tokyo DisneySea 09:00–21:00
- New Year’s Eve: Tokyo Disneyland 09:00–21:00, Tokyo DisneySea 09:00–21:00
- New Year’s Day: Tokyo Disneyland 09:00–21:00, Tokyo DisneySea 09:00–21:00
Each park has one short day during the event. Tokyo Disneyland closes at 18:30 on December 4, 2026, and Tokyo DisneySea closes at 18:30 on November 27, 2026. The fireworks are not scheduled on those days (nor, at Tokyo Disneyland, the Electrical Parade), and the calendar gives no reason, so avoid them if the evening shows matter to you.
What isn’t out yet: parade and show times. The park publishes each month’s show schedule early in the month before, so December times appear in November and New Year times in December. Opening hours can also change.
What’s on at Tokyo Disneyland
Disney Christmas at Tokyo Disneyland brings the parade “Toys Wondrous Christmas!”, a Christmas-only version of the night parade Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights, and the fireworks show “Starbright Christmas”. A large, glittering Christmas tree stands in World Bazaar, and decorations based on the parade appear at the entrance for the first time. New this year is “Jolly Food Plaza”, a Christmas-market-style area of food booths and food wagons on the plaza in front of Cinderella Castle.“Toys Wondrous Christmas!” lasts about 45 minutes, and the floats stop at several points along the parade route. “Starbright Christmas” is a short fireworks show of about 5 minutes. It goes ahead even when it rains but can be cancelled in strong wind, and a few spots right in front of Cinderella Castle have a poor view of it.
Two attractions get a holiday version for the season. Country Bear Theater becomes “Jingle Bell Jamboree” (Christmas and winter songs), and Haunted Mansion becomes Haunted Mansion “Holiday Nightmare”, themed on Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Both run for longer than the Christmas event itself. Jingle Bell Jamboree runs from November 1, 2026 to January 16, 2027. Haunted Mansion “Holiday Nightmare” runs from September 15, 2026 to January 7, 2027, so you can still catch it in early January.
What’s on at Tokyo DisneySea
Disney Christmas at Tokyo DisneySea brings “Disney Christmas Greeting” on Mediterranean Harbor, where Mickey Mouse, Duffy and other Disney friends arrive with Santa Claus on a barge hung with Christmas ornaments, and the fireworks show “Starbright Christmas”. For the park's 25th anniversary, the Christmas tree in American Waterfront is decorated in “Jubilee Blue” with the anniversary logo, and the tree at the entrance gets Jubilee Blue ornaments too. Carolers and strolling bands play Christmas music in American Waterfront.“Disney Christmas Greeting” lasts about 15 minutes, and DisneySea’s “Starbright Christmas” about 5 minutes. As in the other park, the fireworks can be cancelled in strong wind, and a few spots by Mediterranean Harbor have a blocked view.
Around Christmas, Duffy & Friends have their own programme, “Making Winter Warm”, about knitting indoors on a snowy day. It comes with its own merchandise, food souvenirs and Christmas-only Duffy & Friends decorations in the park. The programme runs from November 2, 2026 to January 13, 2027.
Food and merchandise
Christmas food starts before the shows do. Special menus are served from November 1, 2026, and Jolly Food Plaza at Tokyo Disneyland opens on the same day. Christmas merchandise goes on sale in both parks on November 10, 2026, the day before the event begins.
New merchandise draws long lines, so the parks limit entry to some shops.
From the day the Christmas merchandise goes on sale, some shops need a free Standby Pass from the app. At Tokyo Disneyland this applies to Disney & Co., Gag Factory/Toontown Five and Dime, and capsule-toy corners. Check the app on the day. At Tokyo DisneySea, Galleria Disney, Emporio and Abu’s Bazaar are among the shops that use a Standby Pass. The pass is free and comes from the app, so check it as soon as you enter the park.
New Year’s Eve and New Year
There is no New Year's Eve event this year. The official site says “New Year’s Eve” will not be presented at Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea, so there is no late-night countdown. On New Year's Eve the parks keep their usual daytime hours.New Year's Special Event, in both parks. Disney friends greet guests in colourful New Year outfits, and there is New Year merchandise and special menus. Show names and times had not been announced when we checked. The New Year’s Special Event runs from January 1, 2027 to January 11, 2027 in both parks.
Still to be announced: the names and times of the New Year shows and greetings, and the New Year menus and merchandise. These details hadn’t been published when this guide was written, so check the official event pages before you plan a January visit around them.
Tickets and viewing
Christmas doesn’t change how tickets work. Park tickets are for a fixed date and a fixed park. They go on sale online daily at 14:00 Japan time for the same date two months later, and the ticket booths at the gate are closed, so buy on the official website or app (Disney hotels, some travel agencies and convenience stores also sell them). Popular days can sell out. No cancellations or refunds for personal reasons; tickets bought on the official website can be changed online.
There is no separate Christmas ticket: everything is included with a regular park ticket for that date and park. You can watch “Toys Wondrous Christmas!” and the Electrical Parade for free from viewing areas that need no booking. A paid Disney Premier Access, bought in the app, gives you a numbered spot in designated areas where the floats stop. Vacation Package guests and Funderful Disney fan-club members have their own viewing areas. “Starbright Christmas” can be seen from many places in the park and has no paid viewing option. None of the Christmas shows uses Entry Request. At Tokyo DisneySea it’s simpler. Neither “Disney Christmas Greeting” nor “Starbright Christmas” has paid viewing or a lottery, so you just find a spot along the harbor and wait.
Tips for a Christmas visit
- Pick your day carefully. Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and weekends are among the most popular days of the season. If your dates are flexible, consider a weekday earlier in the season.
- Watch the official calendar. Christmas dates work like any other day. A ticket covers one park on one date and is bought online in advance. The official calendar shows each date's online ticket availability (available, few remaining or unavailable). The park says facilities may close once they reach capacity, even during opening hours. Hours can change, and show times for a date are only published the month before, so check the official calendar shortly before you go.
- Set up the app before you go. You need it for Standby Passes, Premier Access and live show times.
- Arrive for opening. Shops with Christmas merchandise and the best free parade spots fill up first.
- Dress for the cold. Evenings in late autumn and winter get chilly, especially by the water at DisneySea while you wait for the fireworks.
